The ShutterRock share school, an invaluable and honest place to pick up advice and tips for photographers by photographers.
ShutterRockUK is a great place to be. A photography festival organised by photographers for photographers. There is more talent in this group than you can shake a “shaky stick” at.
“SO WHAT” I hear you cry, and thats cool if your not interested, this is for all the people that want to get involved as I can’t force you to get involved in the best thing to hit UK photography in years 
As Bacon in “Lock Stock” says: Right. Let’s sort the buyers from the spyers, the needy from the greedy, and those who trust me from the ones who don’t, because if you can’t see value here today, you’re not up here shopping. You’re up here shoplifting. You see these goods? Never seen daylight, moonlight, Israelite. Fanny by the gaslight.
The same in a way can be said about ShutterRockUK as I can stand before you and keep poking you to stand up and take notice but I cant force you to like the concept of this great idea by Jaz. In all seriousness it would be a shame if you didnt get involved.
ShutterRockUK isnt just a Facebook group nor is it just another music festival. It promotes the best of UK photography and all that the UK stands for. Great people, real talent, fun and a sprinkling of english tea
I have received several emails asking why do I keep promoting ShutterRockUK – I must be getting paid for all the promoting I do. Well the simple answer is NO I don’t.
For me its giving something back to the industry I am lucky enough to earn a living from. The UK has been experiencing dire times, morale is down, people loose faith. ShutterRockUK for me is about sharing the love, being there for others and having a great time.
Being a successful professional photographer is a lonely place at times, then I found ShutterRockUK and found literally hundreds of like minded, friendly and knowledgeable people so for that reason alone I salute these people and will be there to share the sad times as well as the glad times.
I am but one little ripple, but all great waves start from the smallest of these ripples.
So quite simply if you like music, photography and fun then ShutterRockUk is the place for you.
No of course it isn’t :)
But now I have your attention
The image above was taken using the SONY NEX-5 and I really like using it when im not shooting with my pro gear.
The image quality is actually very impressive, so what is the future for professional equipment ? Who know, however I strongly believe there will be a place for true skill regardless of the medium in which the image was captured.
